Landscape Fabrics

Woven & Non-Woven Fabrics

Landscape fabrics are the safe and easy solution to permanent weed control for your plants, flowers and garden.

Landscape fabrics will also enhance your plants’ growth by controlling weeds without chemicals, while allowing air, water and nutrients to penetrate to the thirsty roots. Another benefit of fabric is that it helps to maintain moisture to the plant’s roots, during the summer season, which saves water. The fabric will also extend the life of wood or stone mulch, as it keeps the mulch from eroding away into the soil, and this will keep your mulch investment from washing away too!

They come in woven and non-woven fabrics and in several thicknesses. The majority of home landscaping needs are accomplished with a light to medium weight thickness. Not only are the fabrics easy to use, they are economical as well. The fabrics come in many sizes for easy installation for all your projects.

The correct weight and type of fabric can also be used under stone driveways, pathways, patios and hardscape projects.

This is a product that is relatively unknown to homeowners, but is widely used in the landscape industry. The idea has been around for over 30 years, the erosion control blanket was developed to promote an ideal growing condition for grass seed before germination and to provide protection of the tender grass seedlings. The erosion control blankets are biodegradable, contain no weed seed and no chemicals. It helps to protect the topsoil and seeds from wind and water erosion and foot traffic. The blanket also helps to maintain moisture to the seeds during germination, a key to grass seed development.

In the areas where water run-off is an issue, such as hills, slopes and along watersheds, the erosion control blankets are particularly beneficial to keep seeds from eroding away. Many homeowners use straw as an alternative, however weed seeds in the straw, its uneven thickness and the potential for it to retain too much moisture can make it detrimental to grass health. The erosion control blankets actually channel the water along the curled fiber matrix and allows air and water to reach the surface of the soil by slowly seeping into the ground to promote ideal growing conditions.
